I am a floral designer in South Louisiana specializing in unexpected event and editorial florals. I strive to create a sense of space and time with my designs. Flowers are such a gift and I am so thankful for my career with them
Part time or full:
For many years, I worked at Anthropologie as the Visual Manager while starting the floral business in my spare time. Since 2015, I have been full time!

A typical day in your life:
My toddler wakes me up with a loud “Good morning, Mama!". I make the kids breakfast and myself an iced coffee while listening to Up First and The Daily. Work days are never the same. Responding to emails, shooting a photo, planning for upcoming projects, etc. Every day is different, but all of them involve making snacks and cleaning up toys.
Your favorite color:
Lavender, piglet pink, and powder blue. I love these pretty consistently.

Creating an interactive floral installation for an art museum
Best advice you ever received:
Know your worth and charge accordingly.
What makes you feel inspired or produces the best work in you:
Remembering what inspired me as a child gets me the most excited. As a kid, I was constantly making things out of ordinary objects. I also love looking at vintage botanical books and Dutch masters paintings. I produce my best work when I get the opportunity to collaborate with other artists.
What got you started:
My love of flowers started as a child gardening with my Grandmother. She instilled a sense of mindfulness and gratitude for nature that I carry with me throughout my process.
The best part of what you do:
Getting to be around flowers. Hands down. They are magical.
The most challenging part of what you do:
Trying to stay motivated while working from home.
