Where are you located:

Shreveport, LA

What do you make:

Good Granoly is a woman-owned, family-run granola bakery in Shreveport, Louisiana. We work hard to create the best granola and snacks you’ve ever tasted by using quality ingredients in our handcrafted recipes.

Part time or full:

Full

6 words to describe your work:

quirky, wholesome, fun, delicious, thoughtful, honest

A typical day in your life:

I try to wake up early to have a few quiet moments with my thoughts and some tea. I get my daughter ready, load up and drop her off at pre k before heading to Good Granoly. Typically granola production has already started upon my arrival. I check on everything then sit at my computer to answer any necessary morning emails. I spend most of my days answering questions, planning our future plans such as-developing new products, navigating grocery portals, working on organization and sales. We eat lunch as a team, I may help finish up any loose strings with production, clean up and packing orders. I try to spend some time in the afternoon with my daughter and then jump back in to finish anything that is urgent to complete that day. Once I’m back at home I try to give my full attention to my family and eat dinner together. I occasionally do work from home in the evenings, but try to keep that for exceptionally busy seasons.

Your favorite color:

avocado green

What values do you bring to your work:

authenticity, consistency, loyalty, thoughtfulness and dependability

Best advice you ever received:

A Nelson Mandela quote “May your choices reflect your hopes. Not your fears.”

Your go-to resource:

fellow business owners

How you continue to learn/grow:

I always hope to stay curious. I enjoy reading and listening to podcasts. My daughter is a toddler and her imagination is lovely, it challenges me to make room for play and how that so often fuels creativity in my work.

The best part of what you do:

Freedom to make my own decisions, flexibility in schedule and ability to create products I am and 100% proud of.

The most challenging part of what you do:

Time management, occasional decision fatigue, knowing when to take breaks because the work doesn’t end.
